Free Itch.io Game #18

Welcome back again! Today we are going to take a look at 4 more free game straight from Itch.io. We have a good variety today, so let's take a look without delay!

1. Detect Occult

Love those pixel graphics.

Detect Occult is a short point and click mystery created by Kalcifer. You play as Jen, a detective investigating an assumed breaking and entering case. However, it quickly becomes apparent that there is more that there is something more… sinister going on.

While I got the sinister and eerie feelings quite clearly, I’m still not sure about what exactly was going on other than, “bad stuff." Maybe I just didn’t do enough exploring, or it went over my head. Not sure… but I did enjoy the art style and the atmosphere. You can try it for yourself free from Itch.io *here*. Perhaps you can fare better than me.

2. Eyas

 Poor baby bird...

Eyas is a short, but heartfelt visual novel created by bluebirdplays. You play as a fox who finds a baby hawk, who can’t seem to find it’s mother. You’re able to make decisions that determine the ending of the game, good or bad.

The story of the mother fox is sad, but I enjoyed the game and the story it told. The art is cute, the story is well written, and it won’t take up much of your time. It only took about 5 minutes to get through the story. So, I would recommend taking a look at it for yourself. You can download and play free from Itch.io *here*.

3. Handle With Care

Careful...!

Handle with Care is a balance based game created by NickZangus. You play as a new hire who needs to move some of the museum’s new artifacts to their new locations… without breaking everything in your path. It’s harder than it sounds.

Use the WASD keys to control the worker. It game physics are such that you have to try to balance out the movement and swaying of the artifact. The artifact will start to sway to the right, and you have to press the left key (A) to compensate, to try to keep your balance. Any artifacts you bump into can break, which is no bueno.

The game is actually kind of challenging, but fun none-the-less. You can download the game and try it for yourself free from Itch.io *here*.

4. Sankofa

Looks intense!

Sankofa is a cute adventure game created by PunchAbove. You can find a list of all of the individual contributors on the Itch.io Page. In Sankofa, you play as an adorable Fennec Fox who is searching for it’s memories.

The environments are beautiful, and I love the colors that are used. The fennec fox you play as is downright adorable and I love it. The controls feel pretty smooth, and I enjoyed traveling around the map and seeing the scenery.

The game is rather short, but enjoyable. Plus, it’s free! You can download and play free from Itch.io *here*.

Thanks for sharing some of your time with me today! As always, be sure to leave some feedback and encouragement for the developers, and happy gaming!
